Somatic Breathwork

Reconnect with your body, release tension, and reset your nervous system with Ironbeard Yoga’s Somatic Breathwork. All sessions guided by Certified breathwork facilitators. Designed for both in-studio and online participation, these sessions combine mindful breathing, gentle somatic movement, and guided embodiment practices to help you move out of stress and into presence.

In-Studio:

 Experience the power of collective energy in a supportive, grounded ceremonial space. Personalized guidance allows you to fully explore your body’s natural intelligence and access deep states of calm and clarity.

 Practice from the comfort of your own home with clear, step-by-step instruction and immersive audio guidance. These sessions are perfect for those seeking flexibility, privacy, and consistent support in integrating somatic breathwork into daily life.

Somatic Breathwork Journey

Restore the nervous system. Release stored tension. Reclaim your body.

Somatic Breathwork is a guided, body-based breathing practice designed to regulate the nervous system, release held stress and emotions, and reconnect you to your innate sense of strength, clarity, and presence. Unlike performance breathing or purely meditative practices, this work meets the body where it is—honoring sensation, emotion, and the intelligence of the nervous system.

At Ironbeard Yoga, breathwork is practiced with intention, safety, and respect for the body’s natural rhythms.

What to Expect in a Session

Before

  • You’ll be guided through intention-setting and grounding
  • Breath patterns will be explained clearly and slowly
  • Modifications are always available

During

  • Guided breath sequences paired with somatic awareness
  • Periods of active breathing followed by rest and integration
  • Sensations may include warmth, tingling, emotional release, or deep stillness
  • You are always in control of your journey—nothing is forced

After

  • Deep relaxation and nervous system settling
  • A sense of clarity, openness, or emotional lightness
  • Integration time to allow the body to absorb the experience

Every session is different. Some feel subtle and grounding; others can be deeply transformative.

Who This Practice Is For

Somatic Breathwork is supportive for:

  • Anxiety or emotional tension
  • Feeling disconnected from the body
  • Athletes and high performers seeking nervous system balance
  • Anyone wanting a deeper, embodied healing practice

No prior breathwork or yoga experience is required.

Contraindications & Safety

Somatic Breathwork is powerful and should be approached with care.

This practice may not be suitable for individuals with:

  • Pregnancy
  • History of seizures or epilepsy
  • Severe cardiovascular conditions
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Recent surgeries or injuries
  • Severe respiratory conditions (e.g. COPD, severe asthma)
  • Diagnosed psychosis or unmanaged bipolar disorder

If you have PTSD, panic disorder, or past trauma, please inform your facilitator beforehand so appropriate modifications can be made.

Always consult with a healthcare provider if you are unsure whether breathwork is right for you.

You are encouraged to listen to your body at all times and stop if anything feels overwhelming.
